Communication with TACT: Because There Are Always Two Truths Communicating with TACT is not your average conflict resolution course. We get real about why conflict feels so uncomfortable, what’s actually going on in our brains when emotions run high, and how to respond (instead of reacting) when the pressure is on. Most conflict training jumps straight to, “Here’s how to have the conversation.” But if it were that easy, we’d all be pros by now. Communicating with TACT starts with a more important question: “What’s going on with me in this conflict?” Before we can handle tough conversations with others, we need to understand why we’re triggered, how to manage our emotions, and how to shift from defensiveness to curiosity. At the core of every conflict are two truths, ours and theirs. We get stuck because we’re convinced our truth is THE truth. If we want to move forward, we have to be willing to hold space for both perspectives. This course gives you the tools to do exactly that, especially when emotions are running high. By the end of this course, you will be able to analyze conflict dynamics, evaluate its personal and organizational impacts, and demonstrate constructive communication strategies that transform conflict into personal and professional opportunities for connection, collaboration, and growth.

Join us for an inspiring, practical, and refreshingly human exploration of one of today’s most urgent workplace topics, resilience and suicide prevention. Based on The Five Spirals of Resilience by Staci Cornwell, this engaging session offers a new perspective on how we care for ourselves, our teams, and our organizations. Led by Staci Cornwell, a respected speaker and advocate for workplace well-being, this dynamic presentation will challenge common assumptions about prevention and mental health. Participants will: • Explore the Five Spirals of Resilience as a framework for understanding and strengthening personal and organizational resilience. • Learn how fostering meaningful connection and psychological safety can serve as life-saving strategies within the workplace. • Support employees navigating grief and loss with empathy and flexibility • Gain practical, evidence-based tools to promote well-being, reduce risk, and create a culture of connection and care. Rooted in both research and real-world experience, Staci’s approach is deeply relatable, actionable, and infused with warmth and humor. If feeling disconnected is one of our highest risk factors for suicide, then building connection must be one of our strongest prevention strategies. This session empowers HR professionals and leaders to make that shift by transforming awareness into action. Participants will leave feeling motivated, equipped, and inspired to help create workplaces and communities where people feel seen, supported, and safe. Objectives: 1. Define and describe the Five Spirals of Resilience and explain their relevance to fostering employee well-being and organizational effectiveness. 2. Identify opportunities to proactively build connection and psychological safety within the workplace as part of comprehensive suicide prevention and mental health strategies. 3. Apply evidence-based strategies to strengthen individual and organizational resilience, promoting a culture of support, adaptability, and sustained performance. 4. Recognize and implement supportive practices for employees experiencing grief or loss, promoting compassion, flexibility, and organizational well-being.

If we want to move forward, we have to be willing to hold space for both perspectives. This course gives you the tools to do exactly that, especially when emotions are running high. Objective 1: Analyze what conflict really means, why it happens, and how it impacts relationships and organizations. Objective 2: Evaluate how your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors shape conflict—and use tools to separate facts from assumptions. This course helps you understand what’s beneath the surface so you can lead with intention, listen with empathy, and transform tension into progress.
