Who should attend: Individuals responsible for electrical safety and maintenance, including electricians, electrical technicians, maintenance supervisors, safety engineers, plant engineers, and design engineers, as well as safety personnel with a responsibility for electrical maintenance safety - anyone who needs an understanding and knowledge of electrical maintenance practices required to keep electrical equipment in a safe and reliable condition should attend. You will learn: Electrical inspections, testing, and maintenance practices required to keep electrical equipment functioning safely; How to ensure electrical equipment meets the normal operating condition required by NFPA70E; How manufactures design electrical equipment to be fit for purpose, what is necessary to maintain that fitness, and how to recognize when it no longer fits the purpose; How to establish the minimum frequency to perform periodic inspections, testing, and maintenance for all types of electrical equipment; Which test data should be recorded and how it should be evaluated. After this course, you will be able to: Utilize the NFPA70B standard to establish an Electrical Preventive Safety and Maintenance program; Prepare inspection, testing, and maintenance procedures for all types of electrical equipment; Establish the proper frequency for periodic maintenance; Determine whether your equipment meets the normal operating conditions per NFPA 70E. How you will be assessed: Satisfactory participation of instructor-led and student-centered exercises; And/or an end of course test using provided materials. Special requirements: Prior to attending this course, BWC strongly recommends you take our Electrical Hazard Recognition and Abatement course or have a background in electrical safety. Students should have current copies of the NFPA 70E and NEC reference books received in our Electrical Hazard Recognition and Abatement course.
