The purpose of this home study course is to show professionals how people overcome both mental illness and substance abuse. This course focuses on dealing with both illnesses at the same time as much as possible. The interface between mental health treatment and Twelve Step programs will be a key issue, as will medications and recovery. The course provides suggestions for helping people cope with both mental health and substance use disorders.
