R1 Learning is an education company that creates evidence-based interactive curriculum. Available in both hands-on and digital formats, our curriculum covers topics in Mental Health & Wellness, Substance Use & Addiction, and Life Skills. Our products serve as engagement tools for clients, development tools for the workforce, and generate highly structured data to support outcome measurement. These tools can be used in a variety of settings, including group sessions, one-on-ones, and self-paced learning. This innovative training program equips participants to better understand and support employees in their most vulnerable times. Using a gamified approach to scientific models, self-discovery activities, and small group discussions, participants explore 15 topics including (but not limited to) the following: Emotions & Feelings Coping effectively with life and creating healthy relationships are signs of emotional well-being. Healthy regulation of emotions and feelings is central toward this goal. All emotions and feelings, even uncomfortable ones, have a purpose. They are also the earliest indicators of unrest or disturbances related to people, places, things, or situations. If unregulated, they often precede and fuel unhealthy behaviors. This card deck will help you explore and communicate what you are feeling. It also provides healthy coping strategies to help regulate your emotions. Allowing yourself to feel all emotions is healthy. Sharing your feelings with others can help you deal with difficult situations. Values Values are the principles and standards that guide our behavior and our judgment of what is important in life. Living out of sync with our values is a source of anxiety and stress. This card deck (and companion Facilitator Guide) provides a model for identifying your core values and gives suggestions of actions to take to orient your life in line with your values. Living in harmony with your values leads to a healthier, happier, and fuller life. Recovery Capital Recovery Capital refers to the internal and external resources necessary to achieve and maintain recovery. It recognizes that a variety of elements - personal, family, social, community - can support or jeopardize recovery depending on how we use our capital. This card deck (and companion Facilitator Guide) will help you assess what capital you've developed and how to build more over time. Identifying your strong and weak areas can help you build a solid foundation in recovery. Healthy Boundaries Boundaries are central to feeling healthy and safe in the world around you. Boundaries are also at the core of building and maintaining healthy and meaningful relationships. This card deck defines eight boundary types and helps you assess your strengths and weaknesses in five practices for effective boundary management. Knowing which boundaries are important for you is the first step. Understanding where you take action and where you don't will help identify areas that you can strengthen over time or gain help from others. Phases of Addiction Addiction is a progressive, chronic, and potentially fatal disease. This card deck (and companion Facilitator Guide) introduces the Phases of Addiction model (The Jellinek Curve), which defines the five phases and associated behaviors through which individuals move toward death (at one extreme) or recovery. The Phases of Addiction model helps you understand the destructive path of addiction and assess where you are on the curve so that you can take action to move toward recovery. Substance Use Substance use is on the rise globally. Learning the basics of "what it is" and "what it looks like in behavior" is fundamental to mental health and wellness. This card deck (and companion Facilitator Guide) will help you understand the nine (9) Substance Classes and eleven (11) Criteria for Substance Use Disorder. Increasing one's knowledge helps to prevent and protect individuals, families, friends, and our broader communities against the risks of substance use addiction. Stages of Behavior Change Change is the ultimate goal in recovery, but our mindsets and addictive behaviors tend to resist it even when we experience significant consequences. This card deck (and companion Facilitator Guide) introduces the Stages of Change model, the leading framework for behavioral change. It will help you assess where you are in your own change process and help you take steps to move to the next stage. Getting on a different path is not easy, but there can be no true recovery without meaningful change. Grief & Loss Grief is a natural human response to coping with acute pain from a loss or traumatic event. Although grief typically focuses on an emotional response, it affects thoughts, emotions, and behavior. While everyone experiences grief differently, there are common grief states, emotions, and coping responses. The purpose of this topic is to help you become self-aware of the states you are in and the emotions you are experiencing and provide you with coping tools for being resilient. The resilience practices highlighted help individuals cope, survive, and even thrive during times of grief and loss. Career Interest Knowing what we like to do leads to smart career choices - the right occupations, jobs, and projects. This card deck (and companion Facilitator Guide) introduces the Holland RIASEC model, a leading theory that highlights six career interest types. Understanding your career interest profile will help you choose work that fits you best and that you will find most fulfilling. The more you know your interests and share them with others, the more opportunities will result. Affirmations / Practicing Positive Self-Talk The internal dialogues that play in each of our minds help frame our internal sense of self worth and our reactions to external circumstances. Daily affirmations can boost self confidence, increase emotional balance, and decrease anxiety. Additionally, studies have shown that positive self-affirmations reduce the stress of external threats and improve performance. This card deck (and companion Facilitator Guide) will give you a list of affirmations from which you can select from and practice on a daily basis. Also included: 15 topic kits (Facilitator Guide and Discovery Cards) Power Point for each topics More than 70 ready-to-use lesson plans with downloadable worksheets Discover App subscription with access to all R1 topics for one year (single user) Invitation to monthly meetup groups for R1 Discover users.
