‘Bridging’ is a concept developed by the Othering & Belonging Institute at UC Berkeley and is meant to be a solution to help fight the ‘breaking’ and the extreme polarization that we’re seeing today. During times when we want to break away from people with differing opinions from our own, we need to learn to lean in to bridging behaviors to help us respect and embrace each other’s differences. In a polarized climate, leaders that practice and model bridging can help foster inclusive workplaces.
