Most individuals are not born leaders, and few people feel completely comfortable taking a leadership role for the first time. In this course we will focus on the foundational aspects of leadership, such as the difference between managing and leading, building awareness of whether you are more task or relationship oriented and the implication for your leadership, and what does it mean to cultivate a leadership mindset. You’ll practice putting together a personal development plan - the focus being how you can take charge of your own development, no matter what stage you are in your career. By developing a fundamental understanding of the leadership characteristics that any employee can utilize when presented with the opportunity to lead, you will be ready to accept leadership roles with confidence. This course applies to both managers and those who are not in formal leadership positions.
