The future of construction depends on how well we prepare for it and that starts with how we welcome and develop young workers. This session explores what it means for a company to be truly “ready” for the next generation: from intentional onboarding and mentorship to communication, culture, and clear expectations. Attendees will learn how to design internship and mentorship programs that build confidence, create belonging, and connect young workers to purpose. "Learning Objectives 1: Identify strategies for onboarding and mentoring young workers to ensure they feel supported, confident, and connected from day one. Learning Objectives 2: Recognize cultural and communication practices that create an inclusive, safe, and engaging work environment for early-career construction employees. Learning Objectives 3: Describe actionable plans for company readiness, including internship programs, mentorship structures, and leadership approaches that foster retention and workforce growth."
