Under the Homeland Security Act, U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Immigrant and Employee Rights Section (IER) enforces the anti-discrimination provision of the Immigrant and Nationality Act by targeting, investigating, and administering enforcement actions against employers that intentionally discriminate against U.S. workers. Federal law prohibits citizenship and national origin discrimination, unfair documentary practices, and retaliation or intimidation during employment eligibility verification, Form I-9 and E-Verify. This webinar, hosted directly by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) staff and featuring representatives from the DOJ IER, will discuss employee rights during the employment eligibility verification process, including completing the Form I-9, employee reverification in section three of the Form I-9, the tentative nonconfirmation (TNC) process in E-Verify, as well as provide employee resources. This one-hour webinar, useful for employees, employers, and HR professionals, is eligible for 1 professional development credit through SHRM and HRCI.
