Maximum enrollment per class for a single policy is four students, any enrollment exceeding this policy may be cancelled. Who should attend: Employers and employees who need basic awareness of safety and health issues; newly appointed safety directors or safety committee members who have limited exposure to injury prevention strategies or safety requirements, and employers who need a refresher on topics covered should attend. You will learn: Emergency and fire safety plans. How to store and handle flammable liquids. About walking and working surfaces. After this course, you will be able to: Interpret OSHA 29 CFR 1910.38 and other applicable regulations. Describe proper storage of flammable materials. Identify safety requirements of a workplace walking surface and slips, trips and falls prevention methods. How you will be assessed: Satisfactory participation of instructor-led and student-centered exercises. And/or an end of course test using provided materials. Please read the below information. Virtual Training Classes (VTCs) are instructor led and will offer the opportunity for interaction and participation that is comparable to the in-person class. These classes offer the same continuing education units (CEUs). In order to attend a VTC, you must: (1) have internet access, (2) have a computer with microphone and speaker set-up utilizing a headset or other low feedback system, (3) download WebEx player before entering training, and (4) have a working email address in your BWC Learning Center account to ensure we are able to contact you with details including the WebEx URL. iPads, Android tablets, and cell phones have limited WebEx functionality and we DO NOT recommend their use for virtual training. To ensure that you receive credit for your attendance, you must: (1) be in the virtual classroom for the entire scheduled time, (2) participate in the activities during the virtual class, and (3) complete and obtain a passing knowledge assessment score within 2 days after class. Failure to do any of the following might be cause for a student incompletion. Additionally, your BWC Learning Center registration must match your WebEx registration to be provided credit. Special anomalies can be discussed with your BWC host if someone registered a student but was not person to attend class. If not discussed with the host when there is no WebEx time for a BWC Learning Center assessment for a VTC, the assumption is the student did not take class. VTCs will be updated 14 days after they are completed within the BWC Learning Center. Please contact dshcc@bwc.state.oh.us for any issues or concerns.
