Emotional trauma can affect health and well-being across the lifespan, and providing a trauma-informed and trauma-responsive care environment supports completion of developmental tasks and facilitates the experience of true well-being for every member of the care partner team. Now, federal regulations* require trauma-informed, person-directed, and culturally competent behavioral health care in nursing homes. Participants will be supported in connecting with their own experience as they gain a deeper understanding of the impact of trauma on life course development, how it manifests in the daily life of a care community, and learn strength-based strategies for healing. This workshop also provides all the tools necessary to create a trauma-informed care implementation team, or to benchmark the progress of your existing team’s work.
