Cultural Intelligence is a 6-hour course consisting of six (6) modules designed to be completed at your own pace. This course in Cultural Intelligence is designed to clearly articulate the most important ways that culture emerges in our work life. Cultural Intelligence is dynamic, and this course highlights ways that confusion limits our workplace peace and how clarity can increase our workplace success. The content of this course develops our Cultural Intelligence by increasing our awareness of the components of Cultural Intelligence and how knowing the mechanism of culture can impact our ability to connect, create, and confidently accomplish our professional intentions and goals. Methods of Instruction: In each module there is an hour’s worth of learning content to engage in a variety of formats, including videos, reflection catalysts, individual and communal writing and discussion prompts, and related readings. This Course Includes Six (6) Learning Modules Module 1 — What Is Cultural Intelligence? In this module, you are introduced to the concept of Cultural Intelligence and how it is useful for our work and efficacy. You will learn the definition of CQ and its components. Module 2 — What Is Culture? In this module, you are introduced to two different and equally relevant definitions of culture. You will learn the ways that identity and dignity intertwine with how we navigate culture within organizations and teams. Module 3 — What Is the Nature of Intelligence? In this module, you deconstruct the definition of intelligence and set aside myths regarding fixed versus dynamic. You will learn the ways that intelligence operates and understand the nature of applying our personal intelligences for how we navigate culture within organizations and teams. Module 4 — What Is the Value of Cultural Intelligence? In this module, you reconstruct the components of intelligence in ways that uncover mechanisms for navigating your workplace culture successfully. You will learn the ways that the seven domains of intelligence operate to develop and cultivate CQ. Module 5 — What Is the Impact of Cultural Intelligence? In this module, you critically analyze and apply the components of CQ in ways that uncover mechanisms for navigating your workplace culture successfully. Module 6 — Maintaining Cultural Intelligence In this module, you analyze how applying CQ in various workplace situations have consequences for workplace relationships and efficacy. You will explore how CQ impacts organizational culture and success for the benefit of its teams and leaders and not only because of them.
