Upon completion of the self-paced curriculum component of this ICF Level 1 coaching program, participants are able to: (1) describe the foundational principles, models, and ICF Core Competencies that underpin professional coaching (Consultation); (2) distinguish coaching from advising, rescuing, and directing, and recognize how presence and self-regulation shape coaching effectiveness (Consultation; Leadership & Navigation); (3) apply coaching frameworks for agreement-setting, deep listening, and inquiry that evokes ownership (Communication; Relationship Management); and (4) understand the ethical standards and boundaries required to coach responsibly within roles of influence (Consultation). This program aligns with the People domain's Learning & Development functional area and the SHRM BASK competencies of Consultation, Communication, Relationship Management, and Leadership & Navigation.

The Coaching Foundations Certification - Self-Paced Curriculum is the asynchronous component of Above Coaching's ICF-aligned Level 1 coach training program, delivered on demand through the Above Coaching learning platform. Across 12+ online modules, participants build the foundational knowledge underpinning professional coaching: the ICF Core Competencies, coaching presence and self-regulation, agreement-setting, deep listening, ownership-based inquiry, and the ethical standards required to coach responsibly within roles of influence. The self-paced curriculum accompanies the live cohort and comprises 30 hours of self-study. Module completion is tracked within the learning platform to verify participation.
