DescriptionLocation History of Religion at Work: Subject matter experts will discuss how religion and religious identity have historically impacted three crucial aspects of work: the workplace, the workforce, and the marketplace. The panelists will explore how religious-based bias in the workplace has affected employees’ self-representation and how institutional measures to defend religious diversity have changed over time. History of DEI: Our panel of esteemed experts in DEI and HR will explore the history of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), beginning with the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The panelists will further explore present-day applications and practices, as well as tools to confront DEI misunderstanding and pushback. Unlocking the Binary of Queerness and Religion: Amidst the continued rise of anti-LGBTQ+ voices, legislations, and acts of violence, this panel will explore the intersection of religion and sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and sex characteristics (SOGIESC). We will also explore how to create an environment that is inclusive of different gender identities, sexual orientations, and beliefs. Interfaith & Faith-Based ERGs: A discussion exploring the range of approaches, models, challenges, and opportunities of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) in promoting religious diversity and inclusion within workplaces. Our panel of experienced leaders in the ERG sphere will share practical insights and real-world issues, discussing effective strategies and tips for overcoming obstacles in fostering religious DEI. Future: Fearless Dialogues: Fearless Dialogues is an organization of animators who create unique spaces for hard and heartfelt conversations. They will introduce ways in which companies can move forward to build strategic change using Fearless Dialogues’ programming. Fearless Dialogues will elaborate on their distinct "See-Hear-Change" model, an approach that emphasizes the need for radical hospitality when engaging in difficult dialogue. Future: Telos Group: Telos will cover the basic Principles and Practices of Peacemaking with time built in for exploration of how peacemaking is relevant for conference participants’ own work.
