ALICE® (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) workers earn above the poverty level, but less than the cost of basics. As a result, ALICE workers navigate hardships every day, facing tough decisions, like choosing between affordable child care and housing close to work. This impacts their effectiveness as employees. Based on the critical, data-driven United For ALICE initiative, ALICE@Work helps raise awareness and bring Human Resource Professionals into a greater conversation about improving economic and workplace conditions for ALICE. ALICE@Work features an individualized data report, an immersive, 12-hour course, and self-guided action planning. Participants engage in hands-on learning experiences, share best practices and strategies, and unlock new potential to enhance talent recruitment, increase retention, and foster stronger employee engagement. ALICE@Work advances the mission of United For ALICE, a data-driven organization led by United Way of Northern New Jersey.
