Identify employer conduct restricted under Section 8(a)(1) and recognize the most common unfair labor practice pitfalls that arise in supervisor and management communication. 3. Apply practical communication guardrails that reduce legal exposure while allowing leaders to communicate lawfully and credibly. 4. Mastering the NLRA is a live, instructor-led virtual session for HR professionals, operations leaders, labor relations practitioners, and in-house counsel who need a practical and legally grounded understanding of the National Labor Relations Act. The session examines employee rights under Section 7, employer restrictions under Section 8, and the mechanics of union authorization cards and NLRB representation elections, grounded in how the Board actually applies each of them. Instruction emphasizes real-world application: what supervisors may and may not say, where unfair labor practice exposure most often originates, and how leaders can communicate lawfully under pressure. Delivered by Derek Vitatoe, who brings approximately 25 years of management-side labor relations experience across retail, healthcare, consumer goods, and manufacturing organizations. Format: live virtual session with real-time instructor interaction and Q and A. Participants receive a participant workbook, access to a post-session resource library, and a certificate of completion. This is a recurring program delivered on the second Wednesday of each month.
