In The AI Performance Paradox webinar, participants will align key learning objectives to the SHRM BASK® to build a strategic and ethically responsible performance management strategy. Attendees will learn to diagnose the organizational friction points where traditional performance reviews fail, using those insights to build a vision for an augmented future that balances consistency and human connection (Leadership & Navigation), utilize AI as an operational foundation to synthesize context data (goals, check-ins, feedback), freeing managers to reclaim time for meaningful employee development conversations (Organization Knowledge Domain: Technology Management), and implement proactive communication strategies and transparency guardrails regarding AI’s role (e.g., as a co-author, not a decision-maker) to protect and maintain employee trust (Communication). Participants will also learn to consult with stakeholders to educate and empower leaders on spotting algorithm and human bias (like recency or similarity bias) before widespread adoption (Consultation) and design a tailored roadmap for responsible technology integration, upskilling managers to become coaches who prioritize behavior change over simple process adoption (Organization Knowledge Domain: Organizational Effectiveness).

This webinar addresses the "AI Performance Paradox"—the central tension between an organization's desire for operational efficiency and the essential need for human empathy in performance management. We explore how HR leaders can responsibly integrate Generative AI to automate administrative burdens, such as synthesizing a year’s worth of context data, allowing managers to transition from administrators and "scorekeepers" into effective coaches. The session provides a practical, three-step roadmap (Audit, Guide, Invest) for adopting AI in performance cycles while establishing critical guardrails to manage ethical risks, algorithm bias, and employee trust. HR professionals will learn how to augment their performance strategy, making the administrative process invisible so that employees feel more seen and engaged.
