Participants will engage in instructor-led discussion, organizational culture analysis, scenario-based exercises, and strategic application activities examining culture as a business asset that influences workforce performance, leadership effectiveness, talent retention, organizational agility, and achievement of mission and strategic priorities. Through facilitated exercises, participants will evaluate the relationship between organizational culture and business performance and distinguish between core values and behaviors that should remain consistent and organizational practices that may need to evolve as workforce and business conditions change. Participants will analyze workplace scenarios involving organizational change, competing priorities, performance expectations, employee needs, and leadership challenges to determine how HR and organizational leaders can maintain workforce support while reinforcing accountability and performance. Participants will examine the role leaders play in intentionally shaping culture through communication, decision-making, feedback, recognition, performance expectations, and accountability. Using practical examples, participants will identify cultural practices that strengthen alignment between individual contributions and organizational objectives and evaluate conditions that may contribute to disengagement, unwanted turnover, resistance to change, or loss of critical workforce capability. Participants will also assess culture through a strategic talent and organizational-effectiveness lens, considering how workforce data, employee experience, leadership practices, retention trends, and organizational priorities can be used to identify cultural strengths and potential barriers to performance, innovation, and change. The session will conclude with participants identifying actionable strategies for strengthening organizational culture in ways that support current performance while increasing the organization’s capacity to adapt to future workforce and business challenges. Participants will consider how HR can use these insights to advise organizational leaders and influence decisions related to culture, talent, workforce capability, and long-term organizational effectiveness.
