This seminar provides California employers with practical guidance for properly administering employee leaves of absence. Participants will learn about required employer notices, medical certifications, and state and federal documentation; how FMLA, CFRA, and Pregnancy Disability Leave overlap; and when sick time or a workplace injury may trigger protected-leave obligations. The session will also explain the EDD’s role in State Disability Insurance and Paid Family Leave claims, how workers’ compensation benefits intersect with leave protections, and how multiple leave entitlements may run concurrently. Attendees will leave with strategies for effectively tracking, coordinating, and documenting leaves to support compliance and reduce legal exposure.
