Participants will engage in instructor-led demonstrations, practical AI exercises, case-based analysis, and strategic application activities examining artificial intelligence as a business and workforce capability. Participants will evaluate opportunities to use AI to improve HR productivity, organizational efficiency, workforce planning, talent strategy, decision support, and the allocation of HR resources. Through hands-on exercises, participants will identify and prioritize potential AI applications across the HR lifecycle, including recruiting, communication, policy development, learning and development, employee engagement, data analysis, workforce planning, and administrative processes. Participants will practice effective prompting techniques and compare AI-generated outputs to evaluate how context, objectives, constraints, and instructions affect the quality and usefulness of results. Using organizational scenarios, participants will assess potential AI applications based on expected business value, efficiency, scalability, workforce impact, organizational priorities, and associated risk. Participants will critically evaluate AI-generated information for accuracy, completeness, bias, and organizational relevance and identify situations in which automated outputs require additional validation, professional judgment, or should not be relied upon. Participants will evaluate organizational risks associated with AI, including data privacy and confidentiality, cybersecurity, intellectual property, algorithmic bias, inaccurate information, inappropriate automation, and reputational risk. Through scenario-based decision-making, participants will determine which HR activities can appropriately be augmented by AI and which consequential workforce decisions require meaningful human judgment, accountability, and oversight. Participants will apply a human-in-the-loop governance framework to AI-assisted HR activities, identifying appropriate safeguards for sensitive employee and organizational information and establishing expectations for validation, contextualization, escalation, and accountability. The session will conclude with participants identifying opportunities to responsibly deploy AI within their organizations, determine how capacity created through AI-enabled efficiencies can be redirected toward higher-value strategic HR activities, and assess the workforce implications of AI for changing job responsibilities, skills requirements, workforce capabilities, and future talent needs. Participants will identify actionable priorities for HR to support organizational leaders in making informed decisions about responsible AI adoption and workforce strategy.
