Amendments to Washington’s PFML statute taking effect on January 1, 2026, will have significant impacts on how employers administer PFML leave. This webinar will help employers understand coming PFML changes in the following areas: o Expanded eligibility for job-protected leave, including new obligations affecting small employers; o New employer notice requirements; o Employer’s obligation to maintain health insurance during PFML leave; and o Employer’s ability to limit leave stacking (subject to onerous notice requirements)

Basic training on what constitutes unlawful harassment under state and federal harassment laws. Attendees will gain an understanding of: - What unlawful harassment is and isn’t; - The consequences of engaging in harassment, even if unintentional; and - Their right to complain about harassment without retaliation.

Training on the federal and state laws addressing protected leave entitlements. This webinar will provide an overview of: - The federal Family and Medical Leave Act; - Leave as a reasonable accommodation of a disability; - Washington state Paid Sick Leave and Paid Family Medical Leave; and - The range of other leave entitlements available to employees under state and federal laws.

Training on the laws prohibiting discrimination, harassment and retaliation. Topics will include: - An overview of discrimination laws; - A supervisor’s obligation to identify and address potential harassment; - An overview of disability discrimination and accommodation; and - Supervisor behaviors that can increase an employer’s exposure to these claims, as well as management practices that can help to reduce risk.

Training provides a comprehensive understanding of the Fair Labor Standards Act and Washington's Minimum Wage Act. Attendees will gain an understanding of the following: - Federal and state overtime laws, including recent developments; - Classifying workers as "exempt" or "nonexempt"; - In and outs of compensatory time; - Importance of proper recording and documentation of time records; - Meal and rest break requirements; and - Strategies for dealing with overtime and other wage problems.
